Dear CHS Families, Students, and Staff,
This past week has carried a heaviness for many of us. Our nation has once again found itself processing an unthinkable tragedy, while also pausing to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
In moments like these, it’s natural to feel sadness, confusion, or even anger. The world can feel overwhelming at times, but none of us have to walk through these feelings alone. Leaning on one another for strength, listening with compassion, and offering encouragement can make a real difference.
Even in heavy times, we have the gift of community. Together, we can lift each other up by showing kindness, offering grace, and respecting one another—even when we may not see things the same way. Our differences do not weaken us; they give us new ways to understand and support one another. It is through unity, empathy, and care that we find our greatest strength.
Even as we navigate difficult moments, life within our school community continues, giving us opportunities to come together in meaningful ways.
Students – I am so incredibly proud of every one of you. Whether you’re involved in athletics, band, color guard, NJROTC, Red Army, STUCO, or any other part of our school community, your dedication, hard work, and passion shine through. You showed remarkable respect and composure during our 9/11 ceremony, and your energy and school spirit during the pep assembly were absolutely inspiring. Each day, you impress me with your kindness, effort, and willingness to support one another. I am truly honored to be your principal and to witness the impact you make on our school every single day.
Please continue reading for upcoming events and opportunities you won’t want to miss.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for next week on Tuesday, September 23rd from 4:00-7:30. Families can sign up for a preferred time through My Conference Time using the link below. We encourage you to take this opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers, discuss progress, and ask any questions you may have. Conference times tend to fill quickly, so please don’t wait to reserve your spot.

Senior Parent Meeting
Also on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:00 PM in the CHS Library, we’ll be holding a Senior Parent Meeting. We know how busy life can be, and we don’t want to take up another evening, so we’ve scheduled this important gathering on the same night as Parent-Teacher Conferences. During the meeting, we’ll share key information about scholarships, graduation, Grad Bash, and all the “senior year essentials” families need to know.
After-School Tutoring
After-School Tutoring for Math and English kicks off October 1! Join us Mondays and Wednesdays for English with Mr. Dalton, or Thursdays for Math with Mrs. Beasley, from 3:45–4:45 PM. This is a fantastic chance to get extra help, ask questions, and boost your skills in a supportive environment. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to stay ahead and feel confident in your learning!
