FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE

Claremont families,

This week we will embark on a new literary adventure. We are kicking off the school year with a building-wide read aloud of "The Wild Robot." It is our goal to capture the excitement of reading with every student. Together, we will explore a storyline and discuss plot, characters, setting, and so much more. Get involved by helping us to inspire and engage students with this reading adventure!

Here are a few questions you can ask to engage your child:

  • What is the main idea or theme of this book/story?

  • Do you think the story’s setting is important? How does it affect the plot or characters?

  • Are there any new words you’ve come across? What do you think they mean?

  • What do you like most about the book so far? Why?

By asking these questions, parents can help students develop their comprehension skills, critical thinking, and personal connection to reading, all while fostering a love for books and stories.

As always, thank you for your partnership!

Ms. Randa Fay

Claremont Principal
