FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE

WRJH Families:

I hope this message finds you well. As we move further into the spring semester, I want to take a moment to thank you for the continued support you provide to our students and school community. Middle school is an exciting and sometimes challenging time for students, and strong partnerships between families and schools make a tremendous difference. We have a very busy week coming up and here are some of the highlights!

Parent/Teacher Conferences – March 10
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday,  March 10 from 4:00–7:30 PM. This is a valuable opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers, discuss progress, ask questions, and partner together to support your student’s success. We encourage all families to attend if possible and look forward to connecting with you. You can sign up for conferences using the link www.myconferencetime.com/willrogersjh

Scholastic Book Fair
Our Scholastic Book Fair will also be taking place during conferences. The book fair is a great opportunity for students and families to explore new books, build home libraries, and encourage a lifelong love of reading. Proceeds from the fair help support our school library and literacy initiatives, so we appreciate your support. The book fair runs from March 6-13th. You can add to your child's ewallet by visiting www.scholastic.com/bf/willrogersjuniorhighschool

8th Grade Parent Meeting – Incoming Freshmen
Families of 8th grade students are invited to attend an Incoming Freshman Parent Meeting on Tuesday, March 10 at 6:00 PM at the PAC. This meeting will provide important information about the transition to high school, course selection, and what students can expect as they prepare for their freshman year. We encourage all 8th grade families to attend if possible.

Our 8th grade students will be visitin the Outsiders House & Museum this week as part of their learning experience connected to the novel The Outsiders. This field trip will allow students to explore the historic home used in the film and learn more about the story’s connection to Tulsa. I want to thank our very generous PTO for making this trip happen.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Q - What school supply does every parent need?
A - The CPS Mobile APP

Our app keeps students, parents, and community members informed about campus happenings right from their phones. Families rely on smartphones for communication, and our app provides:

  • Cafeteria menus

  • Live Feed / News

  • Staff contact information

  • Event details

  • ROOMS for Parent-Teacher-Student Chat

With the passing of House Bill 3958, school personnel must include a parent or guardian in any electronic communication with a student unless it's on a school-approved platform related to academics. Approved platforms include ROOMS, Google Workspace (Classroom, Docs, Sheet), Infinite Campus, StopIt, Edgenuity, and Acellus.

BOE Policy Reference: 74 O.S. § 840-8.1, 70 O.S. § 6-401.
